BANTAM STAMPS END FANTASTIC SEASON WITH NAIL BITER

The Bantam Stampeders ended their terrific season Saturday in Edmonton’s Clarke park yesterday losing a very entertaining Provincial TIER ONE championship game to the  Spruce Grove Cougars 31-30.

The team played a great game and actually had the lead 30 -24 with just a minute left but just couldn’t hold on.  The team put their hearts on a sleeve and played all out but came up just a little short.

To win the CITY CHAMPIONSHIP and the SOUTHERN ALBERTA CHAMPIONSHIP and to just lose TWO games the entire year by only TWO points is a fantastic accomplishment by the entire organization.

To the Players, coaches and parents and all involved in the 2009 Bantam Stampeder Season, thank you for a terrific season.

Congratulations STAMPS on being CITY CHAMPIONS and SOUTHERN ALBERTA CHAMPIONS.

It looks like our windup party will be Dec 6 but that will be confirmed shortly.

Come on out and cheer on the SOUTH team in the NORTH VS SOUTH ALLSTAR game on Saturday at Hellard field at 2 pm.

STAMPS SET RECORD WITH STUNNING  16-12 COMEBACK BEATING BULLDOGS

The Bantam Stamps set a record for Bantam Stampeder club history by
beating the Bulldogs 16-12. The Bantam Stamps now sit at 6 and 1 in
first place in the CBFA South division
and are one victory away from winning the Division which no Bantam
Stampeder team has ever done before. The game against the Bulldogs was
a back and forth affair with the last play of the game
deciding the issue. The KLAK man Nik KLAK picked up a fumble from QB
Zajdel on a last play field goal attempt and ran it around the end for
a Touchdown to win the game. Fantastic effort from KLAK
who says he would have put i through the uprights anyway to win it if
he had the chance. Great games once again by several players including
Thompson on the Oline ..Johnny Podrasky, Kenton EXner,
Dylan Walker and George Saloum…Zajdel had some great runs to keep
the drives alive.  KLAK was the player of the game…..
Next up for the STAMPS are the Eagles then the playoffs start the
following Saturday..
